Moroccan Lamb Briouat
A classic Moroccan dish, these flaky briouats are filled with spiced lamb and served as a delicious snack or appetizer.

- β1 pound LambGround lamb
- β1 package Deliciously Spiced Moroccan Brik Pastry DoughThawed
- β1 medium OnionChopped
- β3 cloves GarlicMinced
- β1 teaspoon CuminGround
- β1/4 teaspoon Cayenne PepperGround
- β1/2 teaspoon SaltGround
- β1/4 teaspoon Black PepperGround
- β1 large EggBeaten

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat.

Add the lamb and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until it is no longer pink, about 5 minutes.

Add the onion, garlic, cumin, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until the onion is softened, about 5 minutes.

Unroll the brik pastry dough and cut it into 12 squares.

Place a tablespoon of the lamb mixture in the center of each square.

Brush the edges of the dough with the beaten egg and fold the dough over the filling, pressing the edges to seal.

Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add the briouats to the skillet and cook, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.

Transfer the briouats to a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until crispy.
