Summer Wonton Soup
A refreshing and light Chinese soup perfect for warm weather, featuring delicate wontons in a savory broth.
Ingredients
- β20-24 wrappers Wonton wrappersAvailable in most Asian grocery stores.
- β4 cups Vegetable brothYou can use store-bought or homemade broth.
- β2 inches GingerSliced or grated.
- β3 cloves GarlicMinced.
- β2 tablespoons Soy sauceLow-sodium.
- β1 tablespoon Sesame oilToasted or untoasted.
- β1 bunch ScallionsChopped, for garnish.
- β1 cup Shiitake mushroomsSliced or chopped.
Instructions

Bring the vegetable broth to a boil in a large pot.

Add sliced ginger and minced garlic to the pot.

Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the flavors are released.

Add soy sauce and sesame oil to the pot.

Cook for 1 minute or until the sauce is well combined.

Prepare the wontons by placing a small spoonful of your desired filling in the center of each wrapper.

Brush the edges of the wrapper with water and fold the wrapper into a triangle, pressing the edges together to seal the wonton.
