Irish Potato Pie
A traditional Irish dish made with buttery pastry, fluffy potatoes, and a hint of onion.
Ingredients
- ●3 large, peeled and diced Potatoes
- ●6 tablespoons Butter
- ●1 medium, diced Onion
- ●1 sheet, thawed Flaky Pastry
- ●to taste Salt
- ●to taste Black Pepper
Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large pan, sauté diced onion in butter until softened.

Add diced potatoes and cook until slightly tender.

Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Roll out the flaky pastry to fit a 9-inch pie dish.

Transfer the potato mixture to the pastry-lined pie dish.

Roll out the remaining pastry to fit the top of the pie.

Place the pastry on top of the filling and crimp the edges to seal.

Cut a few slits in the top pastry to allow steam to escape.

Brush the top pastry with a little extra butter.

Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the filling is hot and bubbly.
