Seared Cod with Japanese Glaze
A delicate Japanese dish featuring seared cod with a sweet and sticky glaze. Perfect for a special occasion or a romantic dinner.
Ingredients
- β4 cod filletsFresh and sustainable cod fillets
- β2 tbsp crunchy sesame seedsToasted for added crunch
- β2 tbsp nutty brown sugarFor the glaze
- β4 tbsp light soy sauceFor the glaze
- β1 tsp saltTo taste
- β4 sprigs moroccan mintFor garnish

Preheat oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).

Season the cod fillets with salt and set aside.

In a small saucepan, combine brown sugar, soy sauce, and 2 tbsp of water.

Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer.

Cook the glaze for 5-7 minutes, or until thickened.

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the cod fillets and sear for 2-3 minutes on each side.

Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until cooked through.

Brush the cod fillets with the Japanese glaze during the last 2 minutes of cooking.
