French Cocoa Crumble Tart
A rich, French-inspired dessert combining a crumbly cocoa crust with a sweet, gooey filling.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 cups all-purpose floursifted
- β1/2 cup confectioners' sugarsifted
- β1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powdersifted
- β1 cup cold unsalted buttercut into small pieces
- β1/2 cup granulated sugar
- β2 large eggsat room temperature

Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, confectioners' sugar, and cocoa powder.

Add the cold butter and use a pastry blender or your fingertips to work it into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Press the mixture evenly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch (23cm) tart pan with a removable bottom.

Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the crust is set and slightly puffed.

While the crust is baking, prepare the filling. In a medium bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and eggs.

Once the crust is ready, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly.

Pour the sugar and egg mixture into the crust and smooth the top.

Return the tart to the oven and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes or until the filling is set and the edges are caramelized.

Remove the tart from the oven and let it cool completely on a wire rack.

Once the tart is cooled, refrigerate it for at least 2 hours or until chilled before serving.
