Pan-Seared Octopus with Peruvian Crispy Fries
A French-inspired dish combining tender pan-seared octopus with crispy fries and a flavorful Peruvian twist.
Ingredients
- β1 pound OctopusFresh or frozen, thawed
- β2 large Potatoes
- β1 cup Vegetable Oil
- βTo taste Salt
- βTo taste Black Pepper
- β1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- β1 teaspoon Paprika
- β2 tablespoons Lime Juice
- βChopped, for garnish Cilantro
- β1 Peruvian Aji Amarillo PepperOptional, for added heat

Heat vegetable oil to 350Β°F in a deep frying pan or a deep fryer.

Cut potatoes into long, thin strips and fry until golden brown.

Drain fries and season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.

In a separate pan, heat a couple of tablespoons of oil over medium-high heat.

Add octopus and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until cooked through.

Transfer octopus to a plate and squeeze lime juice over the top.

Serve with crispy fries and garnish with chopped cilantro.

If using, add a sliced Peruvian Aji Amarillo pepper to the plate for added heat.
