Uruguayan Lasagne
A twist on the classic Italian dish, this Uruguayan lasagne combines the flavors of the Mediterranean with the heartiness of pasta. Enjoy as a satisfying dinner.
Ingredients
- β8 oz pastaLasagne noodles
- β2 cups mediterranean sauceHomemade or store-bought
- β16 oz ricotta cheeseFor the ricotta mixture
- β8 oz shredded mozzarellaFor the cheese layer
- β1/4 cup chopped fresh parsleyFor garnish
- β3 cloves garlicMinced
- β saltTo taste
- β1/4 cup grated parmesanOptional

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

In a medium bowl, combine ricotta cheese, parsley, and garlic. Season with salt to taste.

Spoon a layer of mediterranean sauce into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Arrange 4 lasagne noodles on top of the sauce.

Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles.

Sprinkle with half of the mozzarella cheese.

Repeat the layers, starting with the noodles, then the sauce, the ricotta mixture, and finally the remaining mozzarella cheese.
