Pea and Dutch Potato Gratin
A creamy, comforting casserole of peas and potatoes baked until golden brown.
Ingredients
- β1 cup, fresh or frozen peas
- β2 large, peeled and thinly sliced potatoes
- β1 cup, grated cheese gratin
- β1 medium, thinly sliced onion
- β2 cloves, minced garlic
- β2 tablespoons butter
- β1 cup milk
- βto taste salt
- βto taste black pepper

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a large saucepan, combine sliced onions and butter.

Cook over medium heat until onions are softened, about 5 minutes.

Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.

In a separate saucepan, combine sliced potatoes and enough cold water to cover.

Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.

Drain potatoes and add to the saucepan with onions and garlic.

In a separate bowl, combine grated cheese and milk.

Pour cheese mixture over potatoes and onions.

Transfer mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish.

Top with additional grated cheese if desired.
