Broiled Clam Masala
A flavorful Indian-inspired dish featuring clams cooked to perfection under the broiler, served with a side of aromatic masala spices.
Ingredients
- β12 large clams, scrubbed and rinsed clam
- β2 tbsp vegetable oil broilFor brushing the clams
- β1 tsp garam masala, 1 tsp ground cumin, 1 tsp smoked paprika norval
- β2 cloves, minced garlic
- β1-inch piece, grated ginger
- β2 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
- β1 tsp salt
- β1/2 tsp black pepper
- β1/4 tsp (optional) chili flakes
- βchopped, for garnish fresh cilantro

Preheat the broiler to high.

Rinse the clams under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

In a small bowl, mix together the garam masala, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and chili flakes (if using).

Brush the clams with vegetable oil and sprinkle with the spice mixture.

Place the clams on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil and broil for 5-7 minutes, or until they open.

Meanwhile, heat the ghee or oil in a small saucepan over medium heat.

Add the grated ginger and minced garlic and sautΓ© for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.

Stir in the lemon juice and cook for an additional minute.

Serve the clams hot, garnished with chopped cilantro and a drizzle of the lemon-ginger sauce.
