Lebanese Chicken Shawarma with Tabbouleh
A flavorful and refreshing Middle Eastern dish featuring marinated chicken, crispy pita, and crunchy tabbouleh salad.
Ingredients
- β1 pound chicken breastcut into thin strips
- β2 tablespoons zaatarmixed with olive oil and lemon juice
- β2 tablespoons lemon juicefreshly squeezed
- β1 citrusjuice of 1 lemon
- β2 cloves garlicminced
- β1 cup tabboulehstore-bought or homemade
- β4-6 pita breadwarmed
- β1 tablespoon olive oilfor brushing pita
- βto taste saltfor seasoning

1. In a large bowl, whisk together zaatar, lemon juice, garlic, and olive oil to make the marinade.

2. Add the chicken strips to the marinade and mix well to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

3. Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade and cook for 5-7 minutes per side, or until cooked through.

4. Warm the pita bread by wrapping it in foil and heating it in the oven for a few minutes.
