Croatian Meat Bake
A hearty dish from Croatia, featuring tender meat baked with flavors of paprika and garlic.
Ingredients
- β450g 1.5 lbs ground meat
- β 1 onion, finely chopped
- β 2 cloves garlic, minced
- β5g 1 tsp paprika
- β5g 1 tsp salt
- β2g 1/2 tsp black pepper
- β250ml 1 cup tomato sauce
- β250g 1 cup shredded cheese (optional)Optional for a cheesy twist

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a large pan, cook the ground meat over medium-high heat until browned, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks.

Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pan and cook until the onion is translucent.

Stir in the paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 1 minute.

Transfer the meat mixture to a baking dish and spread the tomato sauce over the top.

If using cheese, sprinkle it over the top of the meat mixture.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serve hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
