Thai Duck with Yum Sauce
A flavorful duck dish from Thailand, served with a spicy and aromatic yum sauce. Gluten-free.
Ingredients
- ●1 Duck breast
- ●2 tbsp Thai red curry paste
- ●1 tbsp Fish sauce
- ●1 tbsp Brown sugar
- ●2 tbsp Lime juice
- ●2 tbsp Vegetable oil
- ●1 cup Yum sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- ●1/4 cup Fresh basil leaves
- ●1/4 cup Fresh mint leaves

1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

2. Rinse the duck breast and pat it dry with paper towels.

3. In a small bowl, mix together the Thai red curry paste, fish sauce, brown sugar, and lime juice.

4. Rub the curry paste mixture all over the duck breast, making sure to coat it evenly.

5. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.

6. Sear the duck breast for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until it's browned.

7. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and roast the duck for 10-12 minutes, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

8. While the duck is cooking, heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a small saucepan over medium heat.

9. Add the homemade yum sauce (or store-bought) to the saucepan and stir to combine.

10. Bring the yum sauce to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until it's heated through.

11. To serve, slice the roasted duck breast and serve with the yum sauce spooned over the top.
